David Carroll, with over thirty years’ experience in banking and commercial lending, offers a unique perspective to both lenders and borrowers in the structure and negotiation of complex commercial loan transactions. Prior to attending law school, he worked in various facets of commercial banking for 12 years including consumer lending, small business lending, middle market lending, and special assets. Before joining Berry Riddell LLC, Mr. Carroll was a partner at Snell & Wilmer, having been with that firm for over 18 years in their Commercial Finance Group.

In addition to representing most of the major commercial lending institutions in Arizona, Mr. Carroll also represents Borrowers in both real and personal property secured loan transactions, including diligence and required Borrower’s counsel opinion letters. He also has represented both buyers and sellers in loan sales, both one-off and portfolio sales. Representative institutional and hard money lender transactions include the drafting, negotiation and related due diligence in connection with: A $35,000,000 homebuilder borrowing base revolving line of credit; a $125,000,000 loan for the acquisition of a mixed use land parcel; and a $165,000,000 construction and development loan for a ski resort/condominium project.

Carroll was included in The Best Lawyers In America© for Banking and Finance Law, 2013-2021. He is a Member of the Bar in Arizona and Colorado. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, cum laude, from Providence College, a Masters of Business Administration, summa cum laude, from Bryant University, and a JD from the New England School of Law, magna cum laude.
