New Restaurant Concept North 40 Grill to Open in North Peoria

North 40 Grill, a new chef-driven concept restaurant, is planned to open in North Peoria as part of an exciting proposed mixed-use development known as “Sunrise Plaza” along Lake Pleasant Parkway near Happy Valley Road. The restaurant’s menu is planned to include All-American cuisine selections with Arizona flair, such as mesquite grilled meats, Mexican Street Corn, Sriracha Burgers and Roasted Pueblo Green Chile Burgers, among other creative dishes. Local restaurateur and owner Sharon Turner has designed the concept to have a casual environment with a local focus, using regionally-sourced ingredients and hosting occasional special events for the chef to create exclusive dishes for guests. At the helm of North 40 Grill will be a well-known chef from a high-end Scottsdale restaurant.

North 40 Grill joins Black Rock Coffee, an Oregon-based coffee shop, and Aldi, a sister-company of Trader Joes, as tenants in the Sunrise Plaza development. The project is working its way through the City process, and will break ground by the fall, according to Chris Hake, vice president of development for Thompson Thrift Retail Group. The mixed-use project will also include an adjacent 10-acre patio home style complex, led by TruVista Development. Hake says that Sunrise Plaza is designed to have a “main-street feel,” and creates the type of highly walkable urban-living hub, featuring unique local businesses and specialty retailers that cater to the North Peoria lifestyle.
